As a member of a Master Mind, you are there to provide positive, supportive and above all, honest feedback. That is part of why you have joined in to the Master Mind. It’s not so much what you get out of it but the help and support you provide to the other members. Be sure that you do this from the start. Don’t wait till you have been there for a while trying to get people to like you and help you.
If you are candid and provide insightful feedback, you will prove yourself to a valued and respected member of the group. Try whitewashing your feedback and people will question the value of what you have to offer. You know, sometimes, someone has to say the baby is ugly because not all babies are cute and beautiful. Just don’t be a jerk with how you come across.
If you are going to give feedback to someone, be ready to explain why you say the things you do. Do your best to be clear and concise and with your constructive criticism. In the end, to follow your advice is up to the other member and once they have made that decision, abide with it. Don’t be there to say “I told you so” if thing go wrong but to say “How can I help?”
Remember, what you put into the Master Mind is only a small portion of what you will receive. As you provide feedback, make sure it is support, positive and most importantly, honest.
