To have an effective Master Mind Alliance, you want to have a group of people who you relate well with and can be an asset to your success. Look for these qualities in the people you Master Mind with.
- Competitive – A person with a burning desire to win and wants his team to be a winner. A real competitor believes in fair play and honesty.
- Teacher – A person who shares knowledge freely and willing to help raise their level of knowledge.
- Student - A person who seeks knowledge, and processes it to make changes or improvements
- Responsible – A person who takes responsibility for their own success and the success of the group. They know success is based on themselves and what they get from their master mind alliance. They understand the master mind success and participating is the norm rather than the exception.
- Attentive - Everyone in the alliance must be an active listener. Active listening is critical to the success of the alliance. Listening to each person and giving them your undivided attention gives value to the questions being asked or knowledge being shared.
- Empathetic – The alliance member must care about what drives his/her alliance partners’ businesses. The value to be gained from an alliance is to know what is valuable to each member.
- Receptive – Leaves his/her ego at the door and accepts the counsel of others. Feed back is one of the greatest benefits of a Master Mind Alliance. No one, absolutely no one, knows it all. Take advantage of the counsel of others.
- Flexible - A person who in not flexible is going to suffer a lot of disappointment. Flexibility is what helps a person bounce back from setbacks and regain his/her footing. Despite great planning and attention to detail, everything does not always go according to plan. Life is not about the adversities you face but how you handle those adversities.
- Honest – Trusting and with integrity – respects all with whom he/she comes in contact. Through interviewing scores of companies, I found this to be the common thread weaving through all the employees from the factory floor to the executive suite.
- Committed - One of the most critical parts of a Master Mind Alliance is counting on the support of the group. If people find reasons for not attending and supporting the group, they are robbing the group of its assets. The group does not need the unfaithful. Act quickly to exclude these types from the group.
